I hope the holidays will be wonderful for all of you. Mine has been complicated by an interesting but certainly not well-timed diversion. A couple of weeks ago, while waiting for the floor to dry, I decided to take a look at what was new in quilting books in the Clevnet system from about 2013 to present. Turns out there were way more than anticipated. In fact, I was able to put on hold about 130 titles in about 20 minutes! They have started arriving, and alas, not at a good time for me to review. Luckily I was able to suspend the remainder until after Christmas. Meanwhile the stacks are setting upon the counters, taunting me with their pretty covers and interesting possibilities. Who knew so many treats awaited at the click of a mouse! Maybe next month I’ll be able to tell you about some of my favorites. Piecefully, Sue
Maryann called the meeting to order at 7:00, introduced Bruce the scissors guy, and welcomed visitors. The minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer’s report can be found in the newsletter.
Our guest speaker was Marj from The Sewing Connection, who did a demonstration on hand- dyeing fabric. Following the program, we took a short break and did some shopping.
Maryann thanked Karen Knox and Bobbie Bruck for taking care of the sign-in table. She also announced that there would be another T-shirt class on Jan. 8th.
Youth Days for those 8-17 will be the last Saturday of the month at Main Street Amherst. Janice Good and Joanne Palun will be in charge of our library, which we will be able to keep at our meeting place.
Kaye Koler reported that Joann Fabrics donated a used Accu-Cut machine to the guild. Anyone who has dies they wish to share is to contact Kelly Grace so she can make a list of them. Kaye also reported that seven Quilts of Valor were mailed to the Air Force Base in Jacksonville, FL. In January there will be a small QofV workshop.
Forty-seven pairs of pajamas were made last month and there will be another pajama party in January. We need donations of flannel.
Karen Conley is coming to do a seven part Judy Neimeyer Block of the Month starting in April.
Maryann reported that so far 140 people have registered for the NEORQC getaway.
On each table there was a sign-up sheet for people to make suggestions of things to do next year. Our next meeting will be our Pot Luck at 6:30. There will be a board meeting at 5:30.
Our meeting ended with fourteen members having Show and Tell. Donna Clapper showed some of the 115 quilt tops she brought for community service.

Teeshirt Quilt Workshop
We will have another Tee Shirt Quilt Workshop, Thursday, January 8, 10:00-4:00pm at the New Russia Township Lodge, Oberlin, Ohio. Students will learn how to make a teeshirt quilt using little or no math! Really!! Most students will be able to complete at least one row in class. Bring a brown bag lunch or dine in downtown Oberlin. The cost of the workshop is $25 for guild members and $35 for non-members. Reservations are required and must be paid in full prior to class. Seating is limited. The regular guild meeting will follow at 7:00pm. For more information and supply list, contact Kaye Koler at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Block of the Month
Would anyone be interested in participating in a block of the month next year? We would do 2 blocks a month, varying in difficulty from easy piecing to applique and even paper piecing – maybe even some hexies! The only requirement is that you must use the 2015 Hoffman Challenge Fabric in your blocks. Please contact Kelly Grace (email@example.com) if you are interested, I’d like to get at least 10 people to participate. I need to know no later than the December meeting so I can plan it to start in January.
We are starting our sign up for Fat Quarters Club and will be continuing sign up until March/2015. After the March meeting I will send out the list to those who have signed up. They will have two months to get all of them and turn them in to me at the May/2015 meeting. You will be able to take your quarters home with you. You don’t have to pick a color you can also pick a project or style. Thanks Mary Lou Brown.
