Thanks Kaye for the link to Moda’s site! This is a good article about battings! Click Here to read the article.
I just found this video on binding by Missouri Star Quilt Company.
Just recently found this cool idea for a quilt by MSQC, it would be a nice pattern for a donation quilt.
March 15 through Sunday, March 17, everyone who signs on to The Quilt Show will have free access to over 140 of our internet shows, including my episode numbers 408 (All About Neutrals) and 809 (Paper Pieced Perfection) and the many mini-lessons included in the various shows.
You can watch the shows, check out the great tutorials, browse the gallery of about 20,000 member quilts, visit the forum for answers to the most burning quilt questions and lots, lots more. And if you missed my shows, you can see them now.
You can also enter the TQS prize drawing with fantastic prizes from companies we know and love like Bernina, Gammill, Superior Threads, AccuQuilt, C&T Publishing, RJR Fabric, and Ricky and I will have gift baskets to give away too.
The grand prize is a new Bernina 550QE sewing machine!
I wanted to make you aware of this amazing event so you can take advantage of everything this exciting weekend has to offer without leaving home and all for free.
Don’t hesitate to share this email with your quilting friends, fellow guild members, social networking friends and local quilt shops so that they don’t miss out on this fun weekend. And feel free to post an abbreviated version of the details on your Facebook page. I want everyone to know about this amazing 3-day celebration of all things quilting.
So check in at www.thequiltshow.com on Friday, March 15, and enjoy the shows and exploring The Quilt Show website and all it has to offer!
If you happen to be at the Lancaster, PA AQS quilt show this weekend, please stop by The Quilt Life booth. I would like to meet you! I also hear there is still room in my evening lecture.
I look forward to meeting you soon – and we quilters do get around!
PS: Just a reminder that my shows are episode numbers 408 and 809.
My whole (quilting) life I’ve wanted to find a way to make Tumbling Blocks quilts WITHOUT hand sewing. There’s a Youtube video by Marci Baker that shows how to do it under “Tumbling Blocks Made Easy”; they sell a book called “ABC 3-D Tumbling Blocks or Something” and somewhere along the line, maybe at aliciasattic.com, you get that triangular ruler she uses (but maybe that can be faked).
Yes, I KNOW Calvin Coolidge hand-pieced a Tumbling Blocks top for His Old Mama, which is in his museum in New Hampshire or somewhere, but in my defense I’m not a politician yearning to run your life like Silent Cal, plus I’m giving you all good news.
Remember the Fat Quarter Exchange? I found this blog today showing how you can use EQ to determine the best way to cut your fat quarter to make a block. Great idea!!!!
